In this bonus episode of Giovanni’s 20th Street College Basketball Wrap-up, James Madison defeated Marshall 67-64 on January 16, 2025. Despite a strong second-half rally from the Herd, where they shot 54%, a slow start and key turnovers proved costly. Jalen Speer led Marshall with 20 points, including five 3-pointers, while Mikal Dawson added 15 points and Obinna Anochili-Killen recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. However, Marshall's 17 turnovers gave up 14 points to the Dukes, who dominated in the paint, outscoring Marshall 38-18. A balanced attack from Xavier Brown (13 points) and Bryce Lindsay (10 points off the bench) powered James Madison to victory. Despite trailing by as many as 16, Marshall made a late push, bringing the game within one possession before time expired.
